|BLOCKS by SIZE||9" Quilt Blocks|
There is no question that 12" quilt blocks are the most commonly used. But at times, you want to make a block that is a little smaller and uses easy math. Enter the 9 inch block -- not too big and not too small, but just fits the bill.
There is nothing difficult in constructing this Zenith quilt block and you can make some really interesting quilts by adding sashing and/or setting the blocks on point. The discovery is awaiting you.
The quilt layout illustrated below on the left sets the blocks side by side. "Squarish" sort of pinwheels appear where adjacent blocks meet creating a secondary pattern to the diamond motifs in the block.
The quilt layout featured on the right uses an on point setting of the blocks in a standard setting. The side setting triangles in one colour edge the quilt. The blank blocks in the centre give a new spot of interest for the eye, and a place to showcase a lovely quilting design.
