BLOCKS by SIZE 9" Quilt Blocks

There is no question that 12" quilt blocks are the most commonly used. But at times, you want to make a block that is a little smaller and uses easy math. Enter the 9 inch block -- not too big and not too small, but just fits the bill.

Sample Quilt Layouts

The Turning Stars quilt block is an easy quilt block to sew featuring four quadrants that make up the star, (which to me, looks more like a pinwheel design).

The quilt layout illustrated below on the left sets the blocks side by side in a very common setting of the blocks. The borders is opposite corners feature different colours for a splash of interest.

The quilt layout featured on the right uses an on point setting of the blocks. Extra interest is added by the use of colourful, blank blocks as an additional design element.
