BLOCKS by SIZE 9" Quilt Blocks

There is no question that 12" quilt blocks are the most commonly used. But at times, you want to make a block that is a little smaller and uses easy math. Enter the 9 inch block -- not too big and not too small, but just fits the bill.

Sample Quilt Layouts

Two sample quilt layouts featuring the Travelled Roads quilt blocks are shown below.

The quilt layout illustrated on the left uses 90 degree rotations to make use of the directional nature of the block. All sorts of interesting designs can be made using this rotation technique. This quilt shown here is only one of many.

The quilt layout featured on the right sets the blocks on point, separating them with sashing strips. Additional blank blocks in different fabrics give an extra colour pop to the quilt and also a spot to showcase your quilting designs.
