The Sweetheart quilt block is an obvious choice to make for a special someone, for Valentine's Day or a birthday perhaps.
This nine patch block is a simple design using only squares, rectangles and half square triangles. Some of these half square triangles are sewn using a favourite method of some quilters -- the "sew and flip" technique. This is an easy way to produce perfect points but there is a bit of extra waste. However, who is not up for learning a new technique?
