|BLOCKS by SIZE||9" Quilt Blocks|
There is no question that 12" quilt blocks are the most commonly used. But at times, you want to make a block that is a little smaller and uses easy math. Enter the 9 inch block -- not too big and not too small, but just fits the bill.

If there is another quilt block by the name Sweet Pea, I have been unable to find it. So, I made it up. It is a simple block to make, but has many possibilities depending on how you set the blocks in your quilt.
To add more interest to this nine patch block, you might choose to make the centre square in another fabric rather than the background fabric. This would add even more colour to your resultant block. All in all, it does not get much easier than to sew this block. And, don't be fooled into thinking that this is a boring block. Simple blocks can make for striking quilts as you will see on the following page.
