Nine Patch Uneven Nine Patch
The Uneven Nine Patch style of quilt block is so named because not all of the nine individual patches are the same size as is the case in a regular nine patch quilt block. This style of quilt block is often used in 10" quilt block to make the math easier, but you will find this construction method in many other quilt blocks as well.

Sample Quilt Layouts

The Star in Diamond quilt block is a bit of a misnomer (in my view) as I do see diamonds but cannot see any stars. However it is a lovely and simple block to sew.

The quilt layout shown below on the left uses a standard side by side setting of the quilt blocks. This is a quick design to finish up with a simple border treatment.

The quilt layout featured on the right sets the blocks on point. The addition of colourful blank blocks and the side setting triangles increases the size of the quilt and adds some extra pizzazz to the final product.
