The two quilt layouts show below both utilize an on point setting of the blocks, but with very different results.

The quilt layout featured on the left includes several blank blocks to create some negative space in the design and a spot to show off your quilting design pattern.

The quilt layout illustrated on the right also uses blank blocks for effect. The big difference is that these blank blocks are used to add extra splashes of colour to the quilt design.
