Nine Patch Uneven Nine Patch
The Uneven Nine Patch style of quilt block is so named because not all of the nine individual patches are the same size as is the case in a regular nine patch quilt block. This style of quilt block is often used in 10" quilt block to make the math easier, but you will find this construction method in many other quilt blocks as well.

Slip Knot

Sample Quilt Layouts

The Slip Knot quilt block makes for some interesting quilts due to the "optical illusions" it creates when you choose a design.

The quilt layout shown on the left sets blocks and half blocks on point to create a central motif. The additional blank blocks and colourful side setting triangles add an extra splash of colour in this quilt.

Large corner triangles are added to each block shown below in the quilt layout on the right. Careful placement of these colourful triangles creates a "colour blocking" look to the final quilt design.
