BLOCKS by SIZE 9" Quilt Blocks

There is no question that 12" quilt blocks are the most commonly used. But at times, you want to make a block that is a little smaller and uses easy math. Enter the 9 inch block -- not too big and not too small, but just fits the bill.

Naturally this is the perfect choice for a quilt for your own favourite "Sarah". (Note how I slipped in the spelling change here to favourite, as I am a Canadian, and to me, the word looks naked without that extra "u". However, I stuck with the true block name spelling in the title!)

This four patch quilt block is an easy one to construct. It is sewn in four identical quadrants and those are then simply rotated. Half square triangles and squares are all that this block needs.

I decided this is a perfect choice for a "scrappy" block -- using up all your little tidbits left over from other projects. But, it looks great as just a two colour block as well.
