BLOCKS by SIZE 9" Quilt Blocks

There is no question that 12" quilt blocks are the most commonly used. But at times, you want to make a block that is a little smaller and uses easy math. Enter the 9 inch block -- not too big and not too small, but just fits the bill.

You might think you recognize the Rolling Stone quilt block as it seems so familiar. Well, you are right -- it is made of all the same components as the Rolling Pin block, but some of the patches are placed in a different direction, and the placement of the colours makes all the difference in the new look of the Rolling Stone block.

*Note ~ These two quilt blocks mentioned above are featured in my downloadable eBook called Sixteen 2 Block Quilts, available for purchase in my Etsy store.

The Rolling Stone block uses a familiar patch -- the flying geese unit and also makes good use of the less common patch -- the square in a square.
