BLOCKS by SIZE | 15" Quilt Blocks |
Do you have a aversion to math? Well then the 15" inch quilt block is a welcome choice as the patches are designed in divisions and multiples of fives for ease. An added bonus is that by making a larger block, your quilt will go together in no time as there are less blocks to make.

The Rocky Mountain Chain quilt block is a five patch design featuring only two pieced patches -- the square in a square and the ever popular half square triangle. I chose the colour scheme of this block to represent a burning star in the changing night sky.
Rather than construct this block together in five rows, my preference (for simpler stitching, in my opinion), is to construct it as an uneven nine patch. I usually find that sewing in "chunks" rather than row by row is an easier method. However, you should feel free to choose your own favourite method of stitching it together.
