BLOCKS by SIZE 12" Quilt Blocks

A quilter's favourite - the twelve inch quilt block. These are probably the most commonly used. The measurements divide easily and evenly for quick calculations. Whether the goal is a bed-sized quilt or a cuddle quilt in an afghan size, a 12" quilt block is your go-to choice.

Quatrefoil

Sample Quilt Layouts

The simple nine patch block called Quatrefoil is designed here using dark fabrics. I find that men tend to gravitate to dark quilts, so that was my intention here.

The quilt layout illustrated on the left uses a standard side by side quilt block setting and separates those blocks with sashing strips of the same dark background fabric. This tends to make the blocks "float" when viewed from a distance.

The quilt layout on the right uses an on point block setting with additional blank areas for your quilting design to be featured. This particular layout here makes the blocks appear as a central motif, which is pleasing to the eye.
