BLOCKS by SIZE 9" Quilt Blocks

There is no question that 12" quilt blocks are the most commonly used. But at times, you want to make a block that is a little smaller and uses easy math. Enter the 9 inch block -- not too big and not too small, but just fits the bill.

Sample Quilt Layouts

The Puss in the Corner quilt block is a nine patch design featuring half square triangles.

The quilt layout shown below on the left sets the blocks on point and separates those with sashing strips. The setting triangles along the edges of the quilt offer a pop of colour to the design.

The quilt layout illustrated on the right uses a standard side by side block setting, which then creates a sort of secondary pattern where the blocks come together.
