BLOCKS by SIZE 12" Quilt Blocks

A quilter's favourite - the twelve inch quilt block. These are probably the most commonly used. The measurements divide easily and evenly for quick calculations. Whether the goal is a bed-sized quilt or a cuddle quilt in an afghan size, a 12" quilt block is your go-to choice.

Sample Quilt Layouts

The two sample quilt layouts shown below are so very different it is difficult to imagine that they are constructed using the same quilt block.

The quilt layout illustrated on the left sets the blocks on point and adds large corner triangles to each block, thereby increasing the block size and adding an extra design element to the quilt layout. The sashing strips give an extra bit of pizzazz to the resultant quilt.

The quilt layout featured on the right, uses a standard block setting -- side by side. This results in an optical illusion of twisting rings. This layout would be striking with careful colour placement of the rings to make it a scrappy version of the design.
