|BLOCKS by SIZE||10.5" Quilt Blocks|
A quilt block in a size of 10½ inches is not commonly used, but it is a nice "in-between" size to scale a quilt block when 14" is too big and 7" is too small. As you may have guessed, these quilt blocks fit into the category of seven patch since they are designed on a 7 x 7 grid.
The two sample quilt layouts shown below both set the blocks on the diagonal with very different results.
The quilt layout illustrated on the left adds large corner triangles to each block. The careful colour placement of these triangles is what adds the extra pizzazz to the final quilt.
The quilt layout featured on the right uses a standard on point block setting and adds extra colour splashes with blank blocks for an eye catching design and also as a spot to show off your quilting designs.
