The two sample quilt layouts illustrated both set the blocks on point. The quilt shown on the left features some half blocks and also utilizes extra blank blocks to showcase your quilting skills.
The quilt layout illustrated on the right features more blocks (and half blocks) and separates them with sashing strips to create a diagonal grid pattern. As you can see, you are only as limited as your imagination when designing how to create your own personal quilt.
