BLOCKS by SIZE 9" Quilt Blocks

There is no question that 12" quilt blocks are the most commonly used. But at times, you want to make a block that is a little smaller and uses easy math. Enter the 9 inch block -- not too big and not too small, but just fits the bill.

Paradox

Free Quilt Block Pattern

The Paradox quilt block is a nine patch design which would be a nice change of pace for quilting teachers to use. It features lots of half square triangles and some quarter square triangles. These two patches are used together to form what quilters refer to as three quarter square triangles since three triangles are used together to form the unit.

Look for the double pinwheels (or stars) that form when you piece it all together.
