BLOCKS by SIZE 8" Quilt Blocks

Eight inch quilt blocks are commonly used in quilts that are made up of one block only and the parts are easily divisible by four. Also, by setting the blocks in different layouts, you can create many different new designs -- sometimes with just a simple rotation of the block. This is not to say that larger or smaller versions of the same quilt block cannot be used in your quilt. Once again, you are the designer.

Sample Quilt Layouts

The two sample quilt layouts shown below both utilize the directional nature of the Ocean Waves quilt block.

The quilt layout featured on the left rotates some of the blocks by 90 degrees, in groupings of four, to fashion this quilt. The blocks are set side by side for an easy final product.

The quilt layout illustrated on the right, sets the block on point and rotates several of the blocks by 90 degrees to create a totally different design.
