BLOCKS by SIZE 9" Quilt Blocks

There is no question that 12" quilt blocks are the most commonly used. But at times, you want to make a block that is a little smaller and uses easy math. Enter the 9 inch block -- not too big and not too small, but just fits the bill.

Sample Quilt Layouts

Vibrant quilts can result when using this Nine Patch Square quilt block. The sample quilt layout illustrated below on the left uses a standard side by side block setting and results in a quilt that "reads" as light. The quilt layout shown on the right uses a dark background fabric for the extra blank blocks and ends up being a dark quilt. The sashing strips between the blocks add that extra punch of colour.
