BLOCKS by SIZE 9" Quilt Blocks

There is no question that 12" quilt blocks are the most commonly used. But at times, you want to make a block that is a little smaller and uses easy math. Enter the 9 inch block -- not too big and not too small, but just fits the bill.

Sample Quilt Layouts

The two sample quilt layouts shown below give very different end results in the quilts.

The quilt layout featured on the left sets the blocks side by side in a standard setting revealing a striking, geometric design with a feature in the centre (in the light fabric).

The quilt layout illustrated on the right uses an on point setting of the blocks and separates them with sashing strips. The sashing is in two different fabrics in each diagonal line to give a little extra spark to the final design.
