Magic Pinwheel

The Magic Pinwheel quilt block is a nine patch design featuring only squares and half square triangles.
Colour placement in this easy block can make a totally different look. I chose to introduce more colours into my sample block than the original design, and therefore the pinwheels (as the block name would suggest), don't really show up. You can decide on your chosen look by switching the darker colours to form pinwheel shapes if you wish. Also note the obvious directional nature of the block for all sorts of design possibilities, using simple 90 degree rotations of some of the blocks.
