BLOCKS by SIZE 9" Quilt Blocks

There is no question that 12" quilt blocks are the most commonly used. But at times, you want to make a block that is a little smaller and uses easy math. Enter the 9 inch block -- not too big and not too small, but just fits the bill.

Sample Quilt Layouts

Both of the sample quilt layouts illustrated using the Lucky Clover quilt block set the blocks on point. The quilt on the left uses additional half blocks and sashing, which (to me) gives a look of "plaid". The quilt on the right uses fewer quilt blocks, but adds additional interest by changing up colours of the extra large triangles and also adding sashing between the blocks.
