London Eye
Sample Quilt Layouts
The London Eye quilt block is a nine patch that will introduce you to quarter square triangles. These triangles are used in the centre patches of each of the rows. That unit uses two quarter square triangles and one half square triangle to finish off a patch which is often referred to by quilters as a three quarter square triangle unit.
Both of the quilt layouts shown below use an on point setting of the blocks. The quilt on the left simply uses pieced London Eye blocks (and half blocks) with plain, yet colourful blank blocks to separate them and increase the quilt size. The quilt layout on the right uses those same pieced blocks set on point, but finishes each block off with corner triangles to make a larger square. This allows you to change up the placement of the extra pops of colour here and there, for a totally different look.
