BLOCKS by SIZE 12" Quilt Blocks

A quilter's favourite - the twelve inch quilt block. These are probably the most commonly used. The measurements divide easily and evenly for quick calculations. Whether the goal is a bed-sized quilt or a cuddle quilt in an afghan size, a 12" quilt block is your go-to choice.

Sample Quilt Layouts

The Lightning quilt block is a simple four patch comprised entirely of half square triangles. By flipping or rotating the quilt blocks, all sorts of interesting quilt layouts can occur.

The quilt layout on the left lays many of the blocks "upside down" next to another block, and thereby creating a secondary pattern. The quilt layout on the right sets the blocks on point and results in a design often referred to a "streaks of lightning" as they show a jagged streak of colour as in the case of a lightning bolt.
