BLOCKS by SIZE 9" Quilt Blocks

There is no question that 12" quilt blocks are the most commonly used. But at times, you want to make a block that is a little smaller and uses easy math. Enter the 9 inch block -- not too big and not too small, but just fits the bill.

Both of the quilt layouts shown below feature the Lightning in the Hills quilt blocks in on point settings.

The quilt layout illustrated on the left utilizes lots of blank blocks for a spot to showcase your quilting designs. The colour placement of these blank blocks gives a definite top and bottom to the design.

The quilt layout shown on the right sets the block in a zigzag arrangement to symboloze the shape of a streak of lightning. Blank blocks increase the size of the quilt as well as add additional sparks of colour to the design.
