The two sample quilt layouts featured below both use an on point setting of the quilt blocks. That is where the similarities end.

The quilt layout shown on the left uses additional blank blocks to separate the pieced blocks, which add an extra punch of colour to the quilt as well as giving a perfect spot to showcase your quilting designs.

The quilt layout illustrated on the right also uses some blank block for more colour opportunites as well as separating the blocks with sashing strips to give an additional design element to the quilt.
