BLOCKS by SIZE 9" Quilt Blocks

There is no question that 12" quilt blocks are the most commonly used. But at times, you want to make a block that is a little smaller and uses easy math. Enter the 9 inch block -- not too big and not too small, but just fits the bill.

The Jawhawks quilt block is a new one to me ... well at least the name. The patches used in this block are easy to create and therefore this block is a good choice for a beginner quilter.

The nine patch block uses the half square triangle patch for each corner. Flying geese patches are also featured, and if you are a steady reader of this website, you will know that flying geese are my favourite patches. (I have no idea why that is, but I just like to work with them.)
