The Jacob's Ladder quilt block is one of a series of Biblical blocks on this website. It is a simple nine patch featuring half square triangles and squares.

The directional nature of the block can lead to all sorts of interesting variations in your quilt layout. By rotating blocks or groups of blocks by 90 degrees, secondary patterns can emerge. The quilt layout shown on the left shows this by using blocks in groups of four with rotations.
