BLOCKS by SIZE | 16" Quilt Blocks |
Larger quilt blocks offer the incentive that there are less to make to produce your quilt. When time is limited, this size of block is your best friend. A second feature is that you can try a more difficult design as the pieces may be many, but the sizes of the patches are easy to work with. A win-win all around.

The Idaho quilt block might be considered a "study in stars" since there are five stars that appear. This might seem like a challenging block to construct, but once broken down into smaller "chunks" it is really quite easy.
The eight patch quilt block is sewn as an uneven nine patch, once you have constructed all the smaller parts. These sections are comprised of two of my favourite patches -- the flying geese and the underused, (at least in my opinion) unit -- the square in a square.
Enjoy the choosing of your colours to make this lovely block stand out from the rest.
