BLOCKS by SIZE 12" Quilt Blocks

A quilter's favourite - the twelve inch quilt block. These are probably the most commonly used. The measurements divide easily and evenly for quick calculations. Whether the goal is a bed-sized quilt or a cuddle quilt in an afghan size, a 12" quilt block is your go-to choice.

Sample Quilt Layouts

This Girl's Favorite - Variation block utilizes a sixth fabric to add extra interest to the eye and, as you may have guessed, it is derived from Girl's Favorite. This uneven nine patch block uses the "sew and flip" method to construct the centre square in a square patch, so you can think of this block as a learning experience.

The quilt layout shown below on the left uses a standard side by side block setting, with each block separated by sashing strips to add some additional colour. The same idea (sashing strips), can be seen with regard to the quilt layout on the right, but the blocks are set on point instead. Extra pops of colour are also introduced with the blank blocks placed here and there. As well as giving more opportunities for colour possibilities, this also allows for the size of the resultant quilt to be increased.
