BLOCKS by SIZE 9" Quilt Blocks

There is no question that 12" quilt blocks are the most commonly used. But at times, you want to make a block that is a little smaller and uses easy math. Enter the 9 inch block -- not too big and not too small, but just fits the bill.

There are lots of opportunities to practice up on your piecing skills when you create the Gettysburg quilt block. Sew half square triangles and square in a square patches to create this lovely nine patch block.

Both of these sample quilt layouts are using a on point setting of the blocks. However, whether you want an "overall" look or want extra pops of colour in your quilt, both ideas are shown here. The choice is yours (or use a design of your own).
