What could be easier, math-wise, than a quilt block in a 10 inch size? Surprisingly, the 10" block is not the most commonly used size, (that would be the 12" block), but there are still many quilt blocks that fit into this category and here is my list of currently available patterns.

Free Quilt Block Pattern

The Gamecocks quilt block is an easy design featuring only simple patches -- squares, rectangles and half square triangles.

I took a few liberties with the placement of colour from the original design of this five patch block, which only featured three fabrics. I just like to have more colour in my projects. I did keep red as a feature though, going with the name of the design. I pictured the red combs on those roosters while they went to "battle".
