The Fox and Geese quilt block is a wonderful choice for a beginner quilter. This four patch block uses only the most basic of patches in quilting -- squares and half square triangles.

Both of the quilt layouts shown below take advantage of the directional nature of the block and use groups of four blocks, with rotations of 90 degrees to form a secondary pattern. The quilt layout on the right sets these groupings of four blocks on point and includes additional blank blocks for extra pops of colour and a place to showcase your quilting designs.
