Nine Patch Uneven Nine Patch
The Uneven Nine Patch style of quilt block is so named because not all of the nine individual patches are the same size as is the case in a regular nine patch quilt block. This style of quilt block is often used in 10" quilt block to make the math easier, but you will find this construction method in many other quilt blocks as well.

Sample Quilt Layouts

The two quilt layouts shown below both use a diagonal setting of the blocks with very different results.

The quilt layout illustrated on the left adds large corner triangles to each block to enlarge the size. Careful colour placement of these larger triangles gives a whole different design element to the quilt.

The quilt layout featured on the right also uses an on point block setting and separates each block with sashing strips. The addition of a few blank blocks offers the opportunity for an extra splash of colour as well as a perfect spot to showcase your quilting design.
