BLOCKS by SIZE 9" Quilt Blocks

There is no question that 12" quilt blocks are the most commonly used. But at times, you want to make a block that is a little smaller and uses easy math. Enter the 9 inch block -- not too big and not too small, but just fits the bill.

Sample Quilt Layouts

The Fan quilt block is a wonderful "learning block" as it features only rectangles and flying geese patches. This four patch quilt block works up quickly, which then speeds up the process of designing your chosen quilt layout -- a wonderful introduction to quilting for the beginner quiltmaker.

Both of the quilt layouts shown below feature sashing strips to separate the blocks and add some extra interest to the quilt design. The quilt layout shown on the right uses an on point block setting, which also gives additional places for colour in the form of blank blocks, and allows a spot to demonstrate your quilting skills.
