|BLOCKS by SIZE||9" Quilt Blocks|
There is no question that 12" quilt blocks are the most commonly used. But at times, you want to make a block that is a little smaller and uses easy math. Enter the 9 inch block -- not too big and not too small, but just fits the bill.
You get lots of practice in sewing your pieced patches for this Entwined Star quilt block -- half square triangles, quarter square triangles and square in a square patches.
Both of the quilt layouts shown below use an on point setting of the blocks. The left quilt looks like a meandering chain rather than the star as in the name of the quilt block. The right quilt layout uses lots of blank blocks for extra colour and a spot to show off your quilting designs. There are numerous quilt layouts that can be designed using this easy nine patch quilt block.
