|BLOCKS by SIZE||10" Quilt Blocks|
What could be easier, math-wise, than a quilt block in a 10 inch size? Surprisingly, the 10" block is not the most commonly used size, (that would be the 12" block), but there are still many quilt blocks that fit into this category and here is my list of currently available patterns.
The Easter Basket quilt block is just one of numerous other basket style quilt blocks. Most of these basket blocks are oriented on a 45 degree angle so that these blocks are easily designed with an on point quilt layout.
The quilt layout shown below on the left uses 90 degree rotations of individual blocks to create the final quilt design, along with lots of additional colour in the form of extra blank blocks. The quilt layout on the right uses 90 degree rotations of the blocks also, but in groupings of four blocks to create a secondary design of a subtle star in the centre of the group. In the case of this latter quilt layout, it is hard to even see the original "basket" of the quilt block.
