BLOCKS by SIZE 15" Quilt Blocks

Do you have a aversion to math? Well then the 15" inch quilt block is a welcome choice as the patches are designed in divisions and multiples of fives for ease. An added bonus is that by making a larger block, your quilt will go together in no time as there are less blocks to make.

The Double Links quilt block is designed to appear as links in a chain -- at least that is my take on the block. This block is not for the "faint of heart" as it is a challenging block to sew. Now, having said that, there are no difficult patches in this block -- only lots of pieces. So, if you want a little change of pace, with careful attention to sewing of an accurate quarter inch seam allowance, this quilt block will go together easily.

The extra fun begins when you decide on a quilt layout for your personal heirloom. Since there is a directional nature to the block, by using simple rotations of 90 degrees to some of the blocks, you will get a different look to the quilt. Two example quilt layouts are shown below -- one a side by side setting and a second quilt using an on point layout of the blocks. Both quilts feature blank blocks for extra colour and a place to showcase your quilting skills.
