BLOCKS by SIZE 16" Quilt Blocks

Larger quilt blocks offer the incentive that there are less to make to produce your quilt. When time is limited, this size of block is your best friend. A second feature is that you can try a more difficult design as the pieces may be many, but the sizes of the patches are easy to work with. A win-win all around.

Sample Quilt Layouts

If you want to move on to something more challenging, the Delectable Mountains Variation quilt block is just the one for you. There is nothing difficult in its construction as long as you take care in sewing the quarter inch seam allowance for each block. And -- since the instructions include a 16 inch sized block, your quilt will work up very quickly.

The two sample quilt layouts shown below reveal very different results. The left quilt layout sets the blocks side by side, which is a pretty standard layout. The quilt layout on the right uses an on point setting and features sashing strips to separate the blocks as well adding extra colour in the form of blank blocks to separate the design as well as give you a place to accentuate your quilting skills. Either choice will make a stunning quilt!
