BLOCKS by SIZE 9" Quilt Blocks

There is no question that 12" quilt blocks are the most commonly used. But at times, you want to make a block that is a little smaller and uses easy math. Enter the 9 inch block -- not too big and not too small, but just fits the bill.

The Crystals quilt block is a nine patch design featuring two of the most commonly used quilt patches. I decided to go with a "winter" theme of ice crystals as my colour choices.

This block includes lot of half square triangles and a patch that I think is my own personal favourite - the flying geese unit. Both of these pieced patches are the first ones you will learn when you are a beginner to quiltmaking.
