Both of the quilt layouts illustrated below using the Crowning Glory quilt block set the blocks on point with very different results.

The quilt layout featured on the left adds large corner triangles to each block, thereby increasing its size and offering extra pops of strategically placed colour to the quilt. The optional sashing strips also give additional design elements to the quilt.

The quilt layout illustrated on the right uses the blank area in the centre for a special place to show off a featured quilting pattern. The setting triangles in an alternate colour choice give a sort of frame to the quilt design.
