A quilter's favourite - the twelve inch quilt block. These are probably the most commonly used. The measurements divide easily and evenly for quick calculations. Whether the goal is a bed-sized quilt or a cuddle quilt in an afghan size, a 12" quilt block is your go-to choice.

The Crossing Ohio quilt block is really an "add-on" to the Ohio Star block. The additional four patches (actually double four patches as each corner unit is comprised of four patches within a larger four patch) making this block have a little something extra. The star element in the design is created using quarter square triangles.

The block is constructed as a nine patch and presents lots of opportunities for an eventual quilt design, given the directional nature of the design.
