BLOCKS by SIZE 9" Quilt Blocks

There is no question that 12" quilt blocks are the most commonly used. But at times, you want to make a block that is a little smaller and uses easy math. Enter the 9 inch block -- not too big and not too small, but just fits the bill.

Sample Quilt Layouts

By using a larger size for this quilt block, your resultant Christmas Star quilt goes together more quickly. The two quilts illustrated use standard settings of the blocks but as you can see with the quilt on the right, by using additional blank blocks and setting triangles, you can have a totally different look. The quilt on the left uses a standard side by side block setting which can create a secondary pattern, depending on colour choices and values.
