Nine Patch Uneven Nine Patch
The Uneven Nine Patch style of quilt block is so named because not all of the nine individual patches are the same size as is the case in a regular nine patch quilt block. This style of quilt block is often used in 10" quilt block to make the math easier, but you will find this construction method in many other quilt blocks as well.

This quilt block is also called simply Christmas Star, but since I already have another block pattern on this website with this name, I decided not to confuse the technology and add my own addendum to the name. Hence, this block is called Christmas Star Anew.

This beautiful eight patch block is designed using several patches -- all familiar ones to you -- but there are just many of them. So, as a result, I have added it to the Intermediate category of difficulty. Having said that, it is not a difficult block -- but simply needs care and precision in your sewing due to the number of pieces. You will be piecing half square triangles and flying geese patches -- both commonly used patches in oodles of blocks. That's it, other than a few squares thrown in for good measure (tee hee -- I couldn't resist that last bit.)
