BLOCKS by SIZE 10" Quilt Blocks

What could be easier, math-wise, than a quilt block in a 10 inch size? Surprisingly, the 10" block is not the most commonly used size, (that would be the 12" block), but there are still many quilt blocks that fit into this category and here is my list of currently available patterns.

Free Quilt Block Pattern

The China Doll quilt block uses only the simplest of quilt patches -- squares, rectangles and half square triangles. These are the first units you will use when you are new to quiltmaking.

This is a five patch block (because it is designed on a 5 x 5 grid). However, for ease in the sewing, I choose to make it as an uneven nine patch for the reason that I like to work in "chunks" rather than row by row. It is a simple matter of preference on my part. You choose what is the best method for you.
