|BLOCKS by SIZE||9" Quilt Blocks|
There is no question that 12" quilt blocks are the most commonly used. But at times, you want to make a block that is a little smaller and uses easy math. Enter the 9 inch block -- not too big and not too small, but just fits the bill.
The two sample quilts shown below for the Checkerboard Star quilt block are both done as monochrome quilts. However, this block lends itself nicely to a scrappy style as well.
The quilt layouts below use common settings of the blocks -- blocks set on point or side by side. Either choice makes a lovely layout for your quilt blocks. The quilt on the left, the on point setting of the blocks, also gives the opportunity for extra colour to be added, in the form of blank blocks and setting triangles -- to showcase your quilting skills!
