The Checkerboard Star quilt block is a simple nine patch block comprised of simple patches -- the flying geese unit and squares.
Sometimes you just want to use a monochrome colour scheme for your design and this quilt block is a perfect choice. But, by using fabric values to include dark, medium and lights, this makes a wonderful "scrappy" quilt block too.
