Centennial

Free Quilt Block Pattern

The Centennial quilt block (also known as Centennial Star), is easy to construct to form the central star motif.

This four patch design features two different triangles to give you some practice in working with triangles. It uses a flying geese patch as its main component, with pieced quarter square triangles to form the tips of the star.

All in all, this quilt block would make a great teaching tool for those instructors in the art of quiltmaking, since it is not one of the "usual" choices in a class setting.

Side Note: There is also a municipality in Colorado, which was (perhaps) the basis of James Michener's book Centennial.
