BLOCKS by SIZE 9" Quilt Blocks

There is no question that 12" quilt blocks are the most commonly used. But at times, you want to make a block that is a little smaller and uses easy math. Enter the 9 inch block -- not too big and not too small, but just fits the bill.

Sample Quilt Layouts

I am a lover of "scrappy" quilts and the quilt block called Cat's Cradle is a perfect candidate to use up all of those scraps you have been saving. I have shown the block in two versions in the sample quilt layouts below -- a light version and a dark version.

Due to the subtle directional nature of the block, lots a variations in your quilts can result by using 90 degree rotations of some of the blocks. These two samples below show that, and yield very different results.
