BLOCKS by SIZE | 12" Quilt Blocks |
A quilter's favourite - the twelve inch quilt block. These are probably the most commonly used. The measurements divide easily and evenly for quick calculations. Whether the goal is a bed-sized quilt or a cuddle quilt in an afghan size, a 12" quilt block is your go-to choice.

The version shown here of the Cat's Cradle quilt block is a scrappy version, meaning that it is made of of several different fabrics to make the whole block. This is a great way to use up any scraps in your quilt fabric stash, although you can certainly choose to make this using two different fabrics, one light and one darker to show the contrast in the pieces.
The quilt block is a nine patch featuring half square triangles. It is an easy to intermediate level block, but can prove challenging if you do not take care with your seam allowances.
